Norwich Door to Door goes flying

Ray Parke flew more than 40 missions in Lancaster Bombers during WWII. He has been heavily involved in public appearances over the past couple of years including meeting the King at RAF Coningsby (Lincolnshire) and receiving the Dutch Medal of Liberation.

A documentary is being made about him by students at UEA and part of that has been to give him the opportunity to ride aboard a Lancaster again for his 99th birthday. A GoFundMe page was set up to raise the money required.

Norwich Door to Door were very pleased to be able to take Ray from his home at the Warren Care Home, Wroxham Road, Norwich to the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby Airfield, Lincolnshire for his ride on the Avro Lancaster NX611.
Ray had an amazing day, and it attracted much news coverage.
